Dimer Chop - A deviled yummy time snack

Bengali cuisine needs no introduction as it offers a delectable range of delightful appetizers. One of such classic street food appetizers is  Dimer Devil / Dimer Chop . As the Bengali's are already gearing up to celebrate their favourite festival that is ‘ Durga Puja ’ this recipe could savour to one's heart content. I still remember while doing the  pandal hopping  with friends in our final year of graduation we were all tantalized when the food stall owner said he/she was selling dimer devil. Now, because it's called the Egg Devil, you don't think this dish is filled with demons, or you can only have it if you're devil full. It's nothing like that if we consider the root of Egg Devil to be one of the legends claimed to have originated from a European dish called Scotch Eggs. Another hypothesis suggests that this is influenced by the Mughal delicacy of Nargisi Kofta. While readily available in the street food stalls, cafes and cabins of Kolkata, the dish under...

Stress-bake with mouth- watering Oreo Cake!

Hello, Oreo fans! I am glad that you found my blog. You’re at the right place. With quality recipe and step-by-step tutorials tested in the kitchen, my purpose is to give you the courage to bake and cook from scratch.

The Oreo cake is the ideal mix of an unbelievably moist scratch chocolate cake, with chocolate glazing, dried fruit and much more.

Oreo Chocolate Cake

Today I’m bringing you an easy recipe of Oreo in cake form. A dessert that will tempt you and will make your tooth sweet. A chocolate lover’s paradise. The Oreo cookies are very easy to get in India. You can literally find them in almost any grocery store.

I am a huge fan of Oreo cookies. Though, I prefer Golden Oreo to the original. I’ve seen the new mega stuff ones, but haven’t tried them. I have been tempted so many times, but now that I have to bake, I will be using the vanilla cookies. Something about that vanilla cookie flavour goes so well with the Oreo filling! If I'm not wrong, Oreos are definitely one of our favourite cookies forever.

HOW TO PREPARE AN OREO CAKE?
The recipe is super simple, just a few ingredients and you have a delicious chocolaty dessert. So, the recipe starts with removing the cream from the Oreo cookies. This can be done with the help of a pallet knife.

Making of cake
  1. Grind the Oreo cookies in a mixer grinder until it becomes a fine powder.
  2. Strain the all-purpose flour with the help of a strainer and add it to a large bowl
  3. Add all other dry ingredients to the bowl. Mix Well.
  4. Prepare two 8-inch cake pans with parchment paper circles in the bottom and grease the sides.
  5. Add eggs, unsalted butter and milk to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  6. Add vanilla extract to the mixture. Mix well.
  7. Divide the batter into two cake pans and bake at 350 degrees for about 28 – 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out without crumbs.
  8. Remove cakes from oven to the cooling racks and allow to cool.
Making of glaze
  1. In a glass bowl add dark chocolate, butter and put the glass bowl in a saucepan of boiling water.
  2. Slowly add the milk. Mix well.
  3. Slowly add 1/2 cup of confectioners' sugar and mix until smooth.
For the layering
  1. Once the cakes are cool, place the first layer of cake on a cake bowl. Spread 1/2 of the glaze on the first layer.
  2. Add the second layer of cake and added the rest of the of glaze.
  3. Sprinkle sliced almond and crushed Oreos on the top for garnish. The cake is best when well covered for 3-4 days.
Trust me, this recipe for Chocolate Oreo Cake is to die for! A moist chocolate cake full of crushed up Oreos.
